Welcome to the Google Sheets Tips newsletter #313, your Monday morning espresso, in spreadsheet form! I published my first Google Sheets tutorial 10 years ago, in October 2014. Wow, time flies! Since then, I’ve published 250+ free tutorials on my website, 313 editions of this newsletter, and 21 online courses. We live in an amazing age where it’s possible for an individual contributor to reach a global audience with their ideas. I’m incredibly grateful to be able to experience that. I want to continue helping you in this way for the next five years, then the next five after that. This Thursday, I'm sending a special email announcing what's coming next to help you on your journey. My mission remains the same: to help as many of you as possible with Sheets, data analysis, and automation. See you on Thursday! Take a blank cell in your Sheet and type "@" followed by "date": Typing "@date" into a cell brings up the date picker object, with today's date highlighted. Press Enter to select today's date or use the picker to select a different date. Other @ Date menu choicesThere are a several other date menu choices available. Try typing the following:
Did I miss any? What else does the "@" menu offerThe "@" menu is more than just dates of course. You can also add people, files, calendar events, emojis and components like Tables, Rating chips, or Dropdowns! If you enjoyed this newsletter, please forward it to a friend who might enjoy it. Have a great week! Cheers, P.S. Mail is crazy! |
