I still remember how awkward using shortcut keys felt at first. Honestly, using them was slower than just working with the mouse.

But after a few days, once the key combinations became automatic, they made a huge difference. I moved around my Sheet and selected ranges without taking my hands off the keyboard, which was much more efficient than constantly switching back and forth to the mouse.

Try these 10 powerful shortcuts to up your game:

1. Copy/Paste/Cut data

Mac: ⌘ + C / ⌘ + V / ⌘ + X

PC/Chromebook: Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V / Ctrl + X

2. Undo / Redo last action

Mac: ⌘ + Z / ⌘ + Y

PC/Chromebook: Ctrl + Z / Ctrl + Y

3. Edit the active cell

Mac/PC/Chromebook: F2

4. Clear All Formatting in a cell or range

Mac: ⌘ + \

PC/Chromebook: Ctrl + \

5. Insert the current date in a cell

Mac: ⌘ + ;

PC/Chromebook: Ctrl + ;

6. Select all the data in a table

Mac: ⌘ + A

PC/Chromebook: Ctrl + A

(Press it again to select the whole sheet.)

7. Find and Replace

Mac: ⌘ + Shift + H

PC/Chromebook: Ctrl + H

8. Move quickly to the last non-blank cell in a row or column:

Mac: ⌘ + β¬†β¬‡β¬…βž‘ (arrow keys)

PC/Chromebook: Ctrl + β¬†β¬‡β¬…βž‘

(Hold shift to also select the data.)

9. Highlight a column:

Mac/PC/Chromebook: Ctrl + Space Bar

10. Highlight a row:

Mac/PC/Chromebook: Shift + Space Bar
