Welcome to the Google Sheets Tips newsletter #363, your (* arriving in your inbox on a Tuesday, because it was Columbus Day in the US yesterday.) Almost two years ago, I launched a course called "The AI Playbook for Google Sheets", which explored how to use basic AI inside Sheets. (Fun fact: this was my last course launch!) A lot has changed since then! Today, Gemini and other AI tools can manipulate data, generate formulas, and write automation code with incredible accuracy. And when you pair that with a strong foundation in Sheets, you can build workflows that are more capable than ever before. That's exactly what my newest course, Modern Google Sheets, is all about. It will help you move from the old way of working to this new, AI-infused era of Sheets. It launches next week, on Monday October 20th. I can't wait to show you. Stay tuned! (Newsletter #364 will return on Monday 27th October.) ➜ NewsI. ➜ Sheets Tip #363: A quick way to navigate rangesIn this tip, we look at a quick way to navigate ranges. It's super simple and a surprisingly neat way to enter data. Highlight a range of cells that you want to enter data, e.g. three cells for column headings. Then pressing the Enter key will move you sideways in the highlighted range: (You can also do this by pressing the Tab key, but most of us are more familiar with the Enter key to add data to a cell.) It works with multiple rows too. The Enter key travels down each column in turn, then jumps up to the top of the adjacent column within the highlighted range: Neat! If you enjoyed this newsletter, please forward it to a friend who might enjoy it. Have a great week! Cheers, P.S. A mummified cat? |

I finished reading a fascinating book last week, Home on the Canal, a long-out-of-print history of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal and the stories of the people who lived and worked along it. Today, I live beside the canal, now a beautiful National Historic Park, and cycle or walk on the restored towpath most weeks. Riding across the Antietam Aqueduct recently, I...
Brought to you by: Hi Reader, Welcome to the Google Sheets Tips newsletter #367, your Monday morning espresso, in spreadsheet form! For my birthday this year, my wife bought me a half-day fly fishing lesson. I had previously tried casting with a fly rod a few years ago in Wyoming, and have been keen to have another go ever since. As a middle-aged dad, my life is, well... maybe a little... predictable. In a good way. Family, work, exercise outdoors, eat, sleep, and repeat. It's a wonderful,...
